Child Struck By Car While Getting On School Bus In PA

A child was hit by a car while getting on their school bus on Wednesday morning, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police.

Emergency crews were called to a report of a pedestrian struck in the 700 block of East Christine Road, West Nottingham Township, Chester County at 6:46 a.m., according to the release by Pennsylvania state police.

The victim has been identified as a 15-year-old boy, who entered the roadway prior to his school bus turning on the red lights to signal to other vehicles that it was stopping, police say.

The boy was hit by a car in the opposing lane of traffic, according to police.

The striking vehicle remained on scene along with several witnesses to the crash, according to the release.

The boy "suffered minor injuries and was transported to A.I. Dupont," as stated in the release.

There is no word if charges have been filed.
